In the London coffeehouse the conversation centered around Titian, the great artist
of the Italian renaissance. The conversation was urbane, intelligent and delightful
until the acerbic English philosopher, Thomas Carlyle arriving late, as was his
wont, interrupted the conversation, as was his wont, “Titian, Titian? Who is this
Titian? I have never heard of such a painter.”
“Ah, Carlyle,” Thomas Babington Macaulay, the distinguished English historian,
gently answered “that is your problem then, not Titian’s, isn’t it.”
“The Journeymasters, The Journeymasters? Who are these people? I have never
heard of such a company.” Unfortunately, there is no Thomas Babington
Macaulay to take our side. And if there were, why would he? No.There is only
The Journeymasters to introduce The Journeymasters to you. This website then is
our introduction, isn’t it.
