General Reservation Information
Full Service: If you know where and when you want to travel: Simply click on your award level on our Pyramid of Dreams and fill in the redemption form that pops up. We, the Redeem Team, will be happy to make your hotel, cruise and/or air reservations, call you to confirm they are as you requested, and send your travel documents to you via UPS two day delivery.
Self Service: If you want to make your own hotel and/or airline reservations, we will send you Marriott/Renaissance, Hyatt, Residence Inn or Fairmont hotel certificates or American Airlines® or United Airlines® certificates to the limit of your award. Each certificate has a toll-free telephone number (see Hotel Reservation Numbers below) and instructions on how to make your reservation at your leisure.
Self Service Flexibility
Air and hotel certificates can be used together or may be used individually, i.e., travel by air on one date, and use the hotel certificates on another date. However, we must send you all your certificates at the same time. We cannot break up your award and hold any portion of it for later delivery.
If you select Full Service
We will make your reservations, happily as we said above, as follows: We will check two dates you request to determine if space is available. If space is available, yet you instruct us to check additional dates, a charge of $25 to check each additional date will be incurred. The $25 charge will be your responsibility. The most expeditious course of action is to give us two dates when you can actually travel so we can make a firm booking on the first call.
All of the above is because the availability we report back to you is not guaranteed, sadly, for even a minute. If it was the last room available on that date, or the last cabin available on that cruise ship, it can be sold to someone else the moment we hang up our phone.
Reservations should be made a minimum of 30 days prior to travel. You will be responsible for a $25 service charge from The Journeymasters if we are asked to make your reservations inside of 30 days.
We have approximately 1600 Marriott, Hyatt, Residence Inn, Renaissance and Fairmont hotels participating in Going Places higher & higher™. Click on Silver to Diamond Hotels to view our 600 AAA 3 & 4 Diamond properties. Click on SuperWeekender Hotels to see an additional thousand.
Marriott, Hyatt, Renaissance, Fairmont, Residence Inns and The Journeymasters reserve the right to change hotels at any time without written notice.

Hotel Reservation Guidelines
Check-In Time
Is 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM depending on the hotel. Your room may be ready before that time, however there is no guarantee. For that reason we suggest you pack some play clothes (bathing suit, shorts, golf attire, etc.) in your hand luggage so you don't have to wait until your room is ready to start your vacation.
Children
Most of our hotels allow children up to the age of 16 to stay in the same room as their parents at no charge, providing existing bedding is used. That is, they will charge a small fee for putting a cot, or rollaway bed in the room. Please note: You will be responsible for breakfast and additional charges, where applicable, for the children.
Taxes
Room taxes are included. At some hotels an occupancy charge or resort fee is levied which is not included.
Black-Out Dates
Hotels "black-out" (will not accept reservations) days around the Christmas and New Year's holiday, and special event dates, e.g. Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
Expiration Dates
Please note the expiration date printed on your hotel certificates. They must be used prior to that date.
Cancellations, Change Penalties and Taxes
We will be happy to make your hotel, cruise and/or airline reservations for you. Unfortunately, for any change you make after you give us instructions, we must charge you a $25 administrative fee. After we have confirmed your reservation and mailed your travel documents, the administrative fee will be $100.
If you "No Show," at a hotel, i.e. fail to show up on your reserved date without notification, your credit card will be billed according to the hotel's cancellation policy.
Definition of Hotel Credits
Many of our awards include hotel credits. Marriott, Renaissance, Fairmont and Hyatt hotel credits will be certificates from the relevant hotel that can be spent like cash at the hotel. Any certificates remaining in the winner's possession can be spent at the designated hotel chain at a later date (prior to expiration). No cash will be refunded for any unused portion of a certificate by the hotel. If the hotel is not Marriott, Renaissance, Fairmont, or Hyatt, a check will be issued to you for the hotel credit amount.
More Questions?
For additional questions, please call our toll-free number 1-800-875-3422. We are here Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (Eastern Time). After normal business hours and on weekends, a live operator from our answering service will pick up your call. You can leave a message with the live operator or leave a recorded voice mail message which we will play back the next business day. If you leave us a message, we can begin working on your behalf, and call you back as soon as we've completed the job. That will save you a second telephone call. Or you may send us an email at redeem@journeymasters.com.

Airline Reservation Guidelines
The Airlines in the Program
Your airline award is for a round trip coach air ticket or tickets on American Airlines® (and American Eagle) or United Airlines® (and United Express), between any airports served by each in the continental USA and Canada. Important Note: You must stay on the same airline round trip.
Making Your Reservation:
Self -Service: You can make your reservations by calling the issuing airline's toll-free number listed on your certificate (and listed below).
Full Service: We will make your reservation by following the travel dates, travelers' names, airports, and airline choices you filled in on your redemption choice form.
A word about Airline Certificates
Included in the mailing with your travel documents will be airline certificates for the airline you requested when you redeemed your award. The airline certificate is not yet an airline ticket. The certificate tells the airline you have prepaid round trip reservations on specific flights and times to your selected destination. However, the certificate must be exchanged at the airport for actual airline tickets.
Exchanging Your Certificates for Airline Tickets:
American Airlines® certificates may be exchanged for tickets in person at the airport any time up to the day of travel, including the day of travel. American Airline certificates may also be exchanged by mail but you must first call AA at least 14 days prior to travel (call the 800 number on the certificates for instructions on exchanging by mail). The AA operator will give you precise instructions. Please remember to call a minimum of 14 days prior to travel.
United Airline Certificates must be exchanged for tickets in person at United Airlines at the airport within ten days of the date of the reservation. Since we send your travel documents UPS Blue Label - two day delivery, you will usually have about a week to exchange your United Airline certificates. (UPS, remember, does not deliver on Saturday or Sunday.) On the letter included with your travel documents we will print the date by which your United Airline Certificate must be exchanged for United Airline Tickets. Should you fail to exchange in the 10 day window, United will cancel the reservation we have made for you. You can use your certificate on a different date, but not on your original travel date.
Both airlines advise you to exchange your air certificates for actual tickets as soon as possible. (even though with American you have until the day you travel to exchange your certificate). The benefit to exchanging your certificates quickly is that once you have the actual ticket AA (and United) will protect you in the event of a schedule or flight change. I.e. they will rebook you. United will call you to notify you of your new flight. American will call us with your new flight, and we will call you. Neither airline will protect you against schedule changes if all you have is an airline certificate.
Conditions attached to your Airline Tickets (and Certificates).
No "stop overs" are permitted, i.e. you have to travel to your final destination the same day you depart your home. The same is true of the return flight.
No "open jaws" are permitted on American Airlines®, i.e. you have to fly direct from your beginning airport to destination airport and return direct from destination airport to the same airport you started from. United Airlines® does allow "open jaw."
Certificates are non-transferable. The traveler's name must be printed on the certificate before we send it to you. The FAA now requires all passengers 18 or older to show photo identification upon check-in for all domestic flights. Your ID must match the name on your air certificate.
Certificates are just like cash. They are "gone." I.e. worthless and not refundable if lost or stolen.
No upgrades are allowed, even if you are willing to pay for the upgrade.
The tickets you receive in exchange for your certificates are non-refundable once they are printed. Any changes you make with the airlines are subject to a $100 per person change fee plus any additional fare increases from the airline.
The Federal taxes on your tickets have been paid. However, you will be responsible for airport passenger facility fees, security fees and fuel surcharges. These charges will be collected by the airline when your tickets are issued. These charges will range from $40 to $60 per ticket.
Very Important Update: As of January 8, 2007 all Americans traveling by air outside of the USA, including to Canada, must have a valid U.S. Passport.
The Journeymasters reserve the right to change airlines without notice.
If you need to exchange or reissue your certificates due to name change, carrier change or expired certificates, The fee is $150 per certificate for American Airlines® and United Airlines®. Airline certificates cannot be reissued unless returned at least six weeks prior to their expiration date. The airlines and The Journeymasters reserve the right to change the reissue fee at any time without written notice. American and United certificates can be exchanged by the airlines or The Journeymasters.

Cruise Lines Reservation Guidelines
Carnival Cruise Lines & Royal Caribbean International Information
The award is a four day-three night (Emerald level) or five day-four night (Diamond level) cruise on Carnival Cruise Lines' SENSATION®, PARADISE ®or FASCINATION® or on Royal Caribbean SOVEREIGN of the SEAS®, MAJESTY of the SEAS® or MONARCH of the SEAS®.
The award includes the following: An outside stateroom for two on MAIN deck on Carnival. Best available ocean view stateroom with either two lower beds or queen size bed on Royal Caribbean. (It behooves you to book as early as possible with Royal Caribbean for the best available ocean view stateroom.) All meals. Round trip air for two people from over 140 cities to Miami, Orlando (overnight for West Coast guests included), or Los Angeles. Round trip transfers from airport to the pier. Port and departure taxes, and airport fees (approximately $125 to $200 per person) and tips are not included. Some cities will require an airfare add-on of approximately $100 to $200 per person. The Journeymasters will make your reservations, confirm them and mail your documents.
Cruise Reservations
Reservations must be made 45 days prior to travel. Christmas and New Year's cruises are not available. As of January 8, 2007, a valid US passport is required as proof of citizenship to travel on all cruises.
If you wish to make any special airline requests, it can be done as an air deviation from 210 to 45 days prior to sailing. The cost is $50 per person from The Journeymasters. If your deviation is accepted, Carnival or Royal Caribbean will also charge $50 per person plus any additional air costs that apply.
You can change the airline tickets (direct with the airlines), you receive to (A) arrive earlier or (B) stay longer. If you do change your airline tickets you do so under the following conditions 1) The transfers from the airport to the pier will be your own responsibility. And please don't be late; the ship could leave without you. 2) The routing on your original ticket must be the routing on your new itinerary. Example, if you were routed through Atlanta, you must select an itinerary that routes you through Atlanta on the new dates. 3) The airlines will charge $100 per ticket for the change.
With Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruises you have two other choices (that are within their guidelines) to change your air ticket. 1) You may book "cruise only" and purchase your own air. We will send you a check for $375 per person to cover your air cost, but the transfers to the pier will be your own responsibility. 2) You may purchase a Carnival or Royal Caribbean ground package for a hotel stay either post or prior to your cruise. The cruise line will then change your air tickets to coincide with the dates of your ground package. Your pier transfers will still be included.
Cruise Cancellation Penalties
Cruise penalties are the responsibility of the winner, and are as follows:
Carnival
60 to 30 days prior to departure: $100 per person
29 to 8 days prior to departure: 50% of Total Cost
7 days or less: No Refund
Royal Caribbean
59 to 30 days prior to departure: $100 per person
29 to 8 days prior to departure: 50% of Total Cost
7 days or less: No Refund
Please note: The cruise lines consider a change of travel date the same as a cancellation. Any change made after a reservation has been confirmed will be subject to a $100 administrative fee. Carnival offers "catastrophe" insurance for $78 per couple for a three night cruise or $98 per couple for a four night cruise. Royal Caribbean offers insurance for $178 to $278 per couple (depending on coverage selected) for three and four night cruises. This insurance covers cancellation in case of extreme emergency such as serious illness or death. The insurance will not cover any pre-existing conditions.
The cruise lines reserve the right to change their fees and itineraries for any reason.
